The elementary program at St. Joseph Christian School offers a rigorous academic curriculum, grounded in the truth of God’s Word. With a focus on engaging learners and fostering student success, qualified teachers provide faith-based instruction in a safe, caring environment.  We want students to feel welcome and loved and be excited to come to school.

Rose Dunlap with a studentWhile academic rigor is at the core of the program, students also engage in arts and athletics, providing opportunities to discover and cultivate their God-given talents while challenging themselves in various subjects and activities. We want students to have a well-rounded educational experience that will cultivate a love of learning and inspire them to be life-long learners.

Elementary class at recessElementary students also learn other essentials such as study techniques, time management, and people skills. We emphasize Christ-like character and encourage students to “…clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another…as the Lord forgave you.” ~Colossians 3:12-13  We challenge students to grow in these traits and lead by example when they are working or playing together, whether on a class project, at recess or on their basketball team.

Elementary education at SJCS is about equipping students for what’s next. We want to give them a solid foundation to build upon as they move up to junior high and high school and beyond. Our deep hope is they will ultimately fulfill our vision of impacting their world for Christ!

“i love my teachers, they are helpful and pray with me when I need it.  I like that I also have other teachers to go  to get help on my work when it’s hard.”
