2019-2020

This year at our annual Faith Promise Dinner, we are excited to be hearing from three individual guest speakers, each with their own unique ties to St. Joseph Christian School!

<strong>Mr. Joe Gregory</strong>

Mr. Joe Gregory is one of the Lord’s humblest servants with a heart of integrity and hands that cannot help serving people everywhere he goes. He was named one of the St. Joseph News-Press 20 Who Count, people who make our community a better place, in 2012.  Mr. Gregory’s legacy includes a lifetime of pioneering endeavors in ministry, including many years of serving as a prison chaplain and coordinating volunteers for prison ministry in NW Missouri, and The Valley Food Kitchen in South St. Joseph. Of course, we are particularly grateful for his obedience in helping to found St. Joseph Christian School. Thirty-two years later, we continue to hold Mr. Gregory in fond esteem, and, hold fast to the Lord’s vision given to him to “let the little children come.”

Mr. Gregory has been married to Barbara for 64 years and they have seven children, the youngest of whom is an SJCS alumna. Their son David has served our school for many years as a parent and school board member. They have 19 grandchildren – five are SJCS alumni and two more will graduate with the class of 2020 – and 12 great-grandchildren with two more expected this year!

We could not be more delighted that Mr. Gregory has agreed to share with us at Faith Promise 2020!

<strong>Mrs. Cindy Richardson</strong>

Mrs. Cindy Richardson will readily tell you she is honored to be trusted to shepherd kindergarten hearts and loves when God uses them to teach her things! She came to SJCS 23 years ago as a pre-kindergarten teacher, but very soon found the Lord’s place for her, in kindergarten. Mrs. Richardson has a total of 33 years in education, was our GPACS Teacher of the Year in 2017, and is appreciated on campus as a leader in biblical integration. She has served on several ACSI accreditation teams, taught workshops at Christian teacher conventions and is looking forward to her fourth trip to Ethiopia in August.

Mrs. Richardson has been married to Tom for 38 years and has three SJCS alumni daughters. Three of her six grandchildren currently attend SJCS. Having called her to encourage, challenge and inspire others to pursue intimacy with Him, the Lord has opened doors to Mrs. Richardson for over 30 years in women’s ministry, from mentoring to teaching to speaking at women’s events, and most recently, blogging and writing for publication.

Mrs. Richardson says listening to little children pray and watching them learn to read thrills her soul. We believe you will be thrilled to hear Mrs. Richardson share her heart with us at Faith Promise 2020!

<strong>Mr. Roger Price</strong>

Mr. Roger Price joined our faculty five years ago after teaching in the public arena 35 years, including 28 at Central High School. It was our honor to welcome this beloved teacher, known for his gift of presenting science in a way that fascinates and intrigues students. Mr. Price was equally excited to have the opportunity to teach in a setting where he can freely “…tell the whole story, the whole truth. Truth is a person who loves us, the Lord Jesus Christ, and He must be the foundation for our educational program, or it is sure to fail.”

Mr. Price and wife Violet have been married 42 years and have four children and two grandchildren. He is also a musician and sound technician, serving in worship at his church, as well as pitching in with our chapel band from time to time. It’s not unusual to discover that Mr. Price and a group of students have left the classroom in pursuit of a hands-on experiment or experience that helps the lesson “stick.” We don’t expect him to lead us on an outdoor excursion at Faith Promise 2020, but you never know! What we do know is that we are always blessed to hear him speak and we’re certain you will be as well.
