St. Joseph Christian School is pleased to announce that Mr. Neal Hook has been hired as the Operations Manager and high school boys basketball head coach for the 2019-20 school year. Neal has been married to his wife, Diane, for 29 years, and currently attends Grace Evangelical Church. Neal is a native of St. Joseph and played college basketball at Missouri Western State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education. He taught math and coached basketball at Central High School for 22 years, serving 12 years as the head coach. He also coached football, baseball, and tennis during his tenure at Central. After receiving his Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership, Secondary School Administration, Neal became an administrator at Central, serving as the Activities Director for two years and as an Assistant Principal for the past five years.
Neal is a past president of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association and was previously recognized as the St. Joseph Sports Foundation Coach of the Year and the National High School Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year from Missouri. Neal was also recently honored as the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals Assistant Principal of the Year. Neal is looking forward to his new role at SJCS and states, “I am blessed to be part of such a great school and athletic program. It’s truly an honor and privilege to be the next basketball coach at St. Joseph Christian School.”
