ACT
ACT – national college admissions examination given (2017-18) on Saturdays: Sept. 9, Oct. 28, Dec. 9,Feb. 10, April 14, June 9, and July 14. The Free ACT for Missouri Juniors Program has been cancelled due to state budget cuts.

It is recommended that students take the ACT or a full-length official practice test by early summer after their sophomore year. Then, use results to set target scores and devise a study plan to prepare for a test in the fall or winter of the junior year.
Writing Component: check with colleges you are interested in to determine if the written portion is Required, Suggested/Optional, or Not-Required.
*ACT College Readiness Benchmarks (SJCS ACT Excellence Recognition): English=18, Math=22, Reading=22, Science=23
Meeting these and a composite score of 26 or greater earn students an SJCS semester final exception.
